Tips for Children with Daytime Wetting

Daytime wetting, or day time enuresis, is a common issue. Approximately 3–4% of children between 3 and 12 years old experience regular urinary leakage during the day, but with proper support, it can often be resolved.

  • Encourage your child to visit the toilet regularly, even if they don’t feel the need to go.
  • Set fixed times for toilet breaks and ensure the bladder is fully emptied each time.
  • Keep a voiding diary to track patterns and improve bladder control.
  • Never punish your child for accidents – instead, provide encouragement to build confidence.
  • Ensure your child drinks enough fluids to maintain a healthy balance and support regular toilet visits.
  • A vibrating alarm watch can be a helpful tool to remind your child to use the toilet, especially when you’re not there to remind them yourself.

If Your Child Wets the Bed

The medical term for bedwetting is nocturnal enuresis. Experts estimate that up to 160 million people worldwide experience bedwetting, which can significantly affect families. Here are some tips to help manage the issue:

  • Bedwetting is not your child’s fault. Avoid punishment or teasing.
  • Let your child drink as they wish – Swedish research shows this has little impact on bedwetting alarm treatments.
  • Use Pjama products at night, whether at home or away.
  • For daytime wetting, use the Watch With Vibrating Alarm – Pink.
  • Download our DryGuardians app to track progress using the calendar feature, which can also assist if you consult a doctor.
  • Talk about it! Many adults and children experience bedwetting, but it’s often not discussed openly.
