Tips for Children with Daytime Wetting

Daytime wetting, also known as day time enuresis, is a common problem. Approximately 3–4% of children aged 3 to 12 experience regular daytime wetting, but with the right support, it can be resolved.

  • Encourage your child to visit the toilet regularly, even if they don’t feel the need.
  • Set fixed toilet times and ensure they fully empty their bladder.
  • Keeping a bladder diary can help identify patterns and improve bladder control.
  • Never punish a child for accidents – instead, encourage and build their confidence.
  • Ensure your child drinks enough to maintain good hydration and support toilet visits.
  • A vibrating alarm watch is an excellent tool for reminding your child to visit the toilet, especially when you can’t be there to remind them in person.

If Your Child Wets the Bed at Night

The medical term for bedwetting is nocturnal enuresis. Experts estimate that up to 160 million people worldwide suffer from bedwetting. It can significantly impact families, but there are strategies to manage the issue. Here are some helpful tips:

  • Bedwetting is not your child’s fault. Do not punish or tease them.
  • Allow your child to drink as they wish. Swedish research has shown that fluid intake has minimal impact on treatments using bedwetting alarms.
  • Use Pjama products for protection when your child is sleeping, both at home and away.
  • For daytime wetting, use the Watch With Vibrating Alarm.
  • Download our DryGuardians app to track progress using the calendar feature, which can also be helpful if you consult a doctor.
  • Talk about it! Many adults and children suffer from bedwetting, but it often goes unspoken.
